Tom Bart
Born in 1968 in Kingston, NY, Graduated New Paltz, NY High School, 1986, Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY Buffalo, 1992. I met Chris Lagoy in Buffalo in1988, borrowed my Mom's no-name acoustic and started playing with Chris. A year later, my Dad bought me an ovation acoustic and I bought myself a 1971 Les Paul Custom. I had only meager musical training but I knew what I liked and wanted to play. My influences of Floyd and Rush were immediately evident as Chris referred to my off beat and weird time signature tunes as Bart-parts, and still does. This was very tough for Chris, a 4/4 guy but we really gelled there for a few years in Buffalo and tried like hell to get a band together but it never quite happened. We played a few open mics and house parties with various folks. One magical day in Buffalo Chris and I recorded a "live-studio" album of all our songs through a Tom Scholz Rockman. I still listen to that tape today and long for those days gone by. We recorded other songs for a few years after college with a four track, ADAT, etc but nothing too serious. In 1995 I married my lovely wife, Angel and we have four children - Crystal, Jason, Jessica and Jaimie. I earn my bread as a project manager for a consulting firm in Boston, MA.
